^THIS. I actually included something about this in my college essay. I don’t see the point of hating a group of people or a country of people; we’re all people.
“I don’t like the Japanese. They bombed us in WWII.” - Yes, the Japanese government gave orders for people trying to protect their own country to attack, and then counter-attack. That’s how it works. Don’t hate all Japanese people for the wills of some, and especially not now. That was nearly 100 years ago during war with what might as well have been a completely different country.
“I don’t like Russians. They’re communists.” - No. Russians are Russian (and people). You’re thinking of the Soviet Union, a communist state that is since gone. Some Russian people still believe in the ideals of a communist state, but that does not inherently make them bad people, nor your enemies.
“I don’t like the Chinese/Indians because they take all our jobs.” - You can blame yourself for this one, you ignorant, inept fuck. As it turns out, starving people are more willing to work for less money than fat, spoiled people. Hold American companies responsible, even though quite frankly, they’re just making a smart business move.
We’re ALL people. Avoid generalizations (that aren’t based in quantitative fact), because they just divide us as humans into sad, non-cohesive subcategories.
THIS. ON SOOO MANY LEVELS.
